The successful candidate will support the provision of pharmacy services across the Trust, providing a professional, efficient, and customer-focused service following agreed departmental policies and procedures.
Key responsibilities include:
- Assisting the dispensary manager in oversight of dispensary services.
- Supervising and allocating the workload of rotational assistant technical officers in the dispensary.
- Assisting in the management of all aspects of the main dispensary.
- Ensuring accurate dispensing skills and ability to follow written procedures.
- Communicating effectively with all grades of staff throughout the trust (verbal and written).
- Organizing and prioritizing workload, and meeting pre-determined deadlines.
- Providing effective customer service skills to meet the needs of customers of the department and to meet the standards of the trust.
- Training and assessing all dispensary staff.
- Managing stock effectively to ensure the availability of formulary medicines while minimizing wastage.
The ideal candidate will possess:
- Underpinning knowledge to standard required for NVQ Level 2 in Pharmacy Services or other equivalent qualification.
- GCSEs in English and Maths, Grade A to C (4-9) or equivalents.
- Accurate dispensing skills and ability to follow written procedures.
- Able to communicate effectively with all grades of staff throughout the trust (verbal and written).
- Able to organize and prioritize workload, and to meet pre-determined deadlines.
- Good clear and well-spoken English.
- Effective customer service skills able to work to meet the needs of customers of the department and to meet the standards of the trust.
- Ability to motivate self and others.
- Able to train and assess all dispensary staff.
- Able to manage stock effectively to ensure the availability of formulary medicines while minimizing wastage.
The successful candidate will be based in the Pharmacy Department at the Whittington Hospital NHS Trust, working as part of a team to provide pharmacy services to patients and staff.
The ideal candidate will be able to work independently and as part of a team, demonstrating a commitment to providing high-quality patient care and contributing to the success of the Trust.
