About the Role

This is an exciting opportunity to join Marks and Spencer as a Data Management Leader, where you will play a key role in driving business growth and profitability through the effective implementation of retail plans and delivery of key performance indicators (KPIs).

Key Responsibilities

  • Drive business growth and profitability by supporting the delivery of retail plans and KPIs across the store.
  • Recruit and develop a high-performing team of customer assistants, ensuring succession requirements are met and talent is developed within the store and region.
  • Ensure the store operates safely and legally, protecting customers, colleagues, and the M&S brand.
  • Deliver an exceptional customer experience by implementing an inspirational, improved, and consistent visual customer journey in-store.

Accountabilities

  • Drive sales and profitability through the effective delivery of retail plans and KPIs.
  • Support the implementation and embedding of business transformation plans and change initiatives across the store.
  • Set clear expectations and deliver great standards and service by coaching and developing store colleagues.
  • Create a positive culture, role-modeling new digital ways of working and leadership behaviors.
  • Develop a multiskilled team, coaching and training colleagues to utilize all available tools to serve and sell effectively.
  • Use data and insights to improve the customer in-store experience, optimize operations, and drive performance.
  • Regularly review individual performance through quality conversations, addressing underperformance, and celebrating success.
  • Deliver all line management activities in line with company processes and policies.
  • Maintain a safe and compliant store environment.

Requirements

  • Ability to lead a team to deliver excellent customer service and KPIs across the store.
  • Strong understanding of commercial, visual, operational, and people processes and systems.
  • Use data and MI to identify commercial, visual, cost savings, and customer opportunities to increase profit.
  • Good level of digital capability and understanding of all systems.
  • Knowledge of legal requirements across the area of accountability and the store.
  • Understanding of people policies and managing performance within a team.
  • Ability to build and maintain relationships with key stakeholders across the store and region.
