Key Responsibilities:
  • Deliver precise, commercial, timely, and cost-effective legal advice on matters with potential or actual legal or reputational implications.
  • Support the needs of our business units to achieve their short and long-term strategic priorities through effective management of legal risk and cost.
  • Provide legal analysis and problem-solving support to senior lawyers, including effective communication of complex legal issues.
  • Manage external legal service provider engagement and related budgets.
  • Develop and maintain a deep understanding of legal risks and cost, including anticipating potential risk and developing risk mitigation strategies.
  • Provide oversight of functional legal risk and management, proactively identifying and effectively managing legal risk and compliance.
  • Communicate and deliver strategic legal and compliance initiatives as required.
  • Project manage strategic transactions (M&A, joint ventures) and litigation/disputes.
  • Share knowledge and experience with other members of the legal team to assist in overall development and progression of the team.
Requirements:
  • NQ or 1 year post-qualification experience in-house or in private practice.
  • Strong commercial acumen and highly developed legal and analytical skills.
  • Leading legal operations practices.
  • BU/service bundle risk profile and risk appetite.
  • Group performance and how it can deliver and add value to its customers.
  • Changing regulatory environment.
  • Legal systems in jurisdictions in which the BU/service bundle(s) operates.
  • Legal analysis and problem-solving.
  • Multiple legal practice areas to support the relevant service bundle(s).
