Job Title: Aviation Trials Management Officer - Typhoon

Job Summary:

We are seeking an experienced systems engineer, aviator, or aerospace professional to join our team as an Aviation Trials Management Officer - Typhoon. The successful candidate will have experience in aviation, aerospace engineering, assessment, or test and evaluation (T&E). Ideally, they will also have experience of fast jet operations or synthetic T&E.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Manage the design, planning, execution, and reporting of Typhoon flight and ground trials.
  • Provide leadership and a technical interface between subject matter experts to facilitate the safe, effective, and efficient delivery of Typhoon trials.
  • Identify and pursue opportunities for increased collaboration and efficiency in T&E for the benefit of the Typhoon program and the MOD customer.
  • Provide high-level stakeholder engagement, including with MOD and industry partners in the Typhoon program, to deliver successful test outcomes.
  • Represent QinetiQ as part of the team embedded within the Typhoon Squadron.

Requirements:

  • A genuine interest in aviation, reflected in previous experience throughout your career.
  • Demonstrable technical leadership experience and an understanding of aircraft weapon and avionics systems.
  • An understanding of the conduct of test and evaluation.
  • The ability to analyze complex systems: to consider a system and/or problem and derive the key aspects requiring attention, thereby assuring focused application of effort.

Qualifications:

  • A relevant degree (such as aerospace or systems engineering) or equivalent experience is essential.
  • We are seeking an innovative self-starter who is driven to deliver great results.
  • Experience in the conduct of technical evaluations is highly desirable, together with a willingness to challenge, refine, and improve existing ways of delivering T&E.
