Locum SEN & Education Lawyer Opportunity

Venn Group's specialist legal team is working with an established Local Authority in the Midlands to recruit a Locum SEN & Education Lawyer.

The role will be performed on a predominantly remote basis with occasional office presence required. Our client is seeking a Qualified Solicitor, Barrister, or Legal Executive with Local Government experience and a solid understanding of Education and SEND matters.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Carry a caseload of Tribunal meetings while providing support to junior members of staff within the team.
  • Knowledge of and ability to apply and interpret SEN and Education Law.
  • Knowledge of SEN court and Tribunal procedures.
  • Knowledge of Local Government law, especially in relation to Education law, Judicial Review, and FOI/DPA.
  • Experience of conducting case files, drafting pleadings, and witness statements.
  • Ability to conduct legal research, interpret legislation, and summarise the key points of case law.

Requirements:

  • Qualified Solicitor, Barrister, or Legal Executive with Local Government experience.
  • Solid understanding of Education and SEND matters.

Rate: Up to £60 per hour Outside IR35, dependent on individual experience.
