Job Role:

As a Quality Inspector, you will play a crucial role in supporting the Supplier Quality and Quality Engineering activities. Your primary responsibility will be to provide measurement expertise across complex mechanical components and assemblies in a rapidly expanding and exciting work environment.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Read and understand technical documents, drawings, and specifications, including geometric dimensioning and tolerancing.
  • Perform visual inspections of materials and components, liaising with the quality team, warehouse, and manufacturing as required.
  • Perform dimensional inspections of supplied components, in-process, and finished manufactured components using CMM, shadowgraph, and manual equipment in a timely manner.
  • Responsible for acceptance or rejection of materials, in-process, and finished items according to defined requirements.
  • Assist in developing product Inspection Plans and Control Plans to define required inspection needs and methods.
  • Manage reject documentation in accordance with company procedures.
  • Keep measurement equipment operating accurately by following operating instructions, calling for repairs and calibration as required.
  • Transacting product through inspection within the Microsoft Dynamics 365 MRP system.
Requirements:
  • Proven metrology experience gained in a manufacturing environment, preferably in automotive volume production or a similar sector.
  • Experience working with hand tools, CMM, and associated measurement systems. PC-DMIS is currently used on CMM, so familiarity with this software would be beneficial.
  • Good attention to detail and a logical, methodical approach to ensure accuracy of measurements and records.
