About the Role

We are seeking an experienced and dedicated professional to lead our Foundation Learning department at Bedford College. As Head of Department, you will play a pivotal role in shaping the educational experience of our students with learning difficulties and/or disabilities.

Key Responsibilities
  • Develop and implement inclusive programmes that cater to the diverse needs of our students
  • Lead a team of educators in delivering high-quality provision that meets the needs of students with SEND
  • Collaborate with colleagues to ensure seamless delivery of services and programmes
  • Oversee the development and implementation of policies and procedures that align with institutional goals
  • Manage and maintain compliance with statutory requirements and regulations
Requirements
  • Level 7 qualification or equivalent
  • Good standard of general education to include English and Maths at Level 2
  • Proven experience in team management and leadership
  • Strong knowledge of government initiatives related to SEND provision
  • Experience in implementing SEND strategy and developing policies and procedures
