Position Overview:

This role involves working as a Supply Chain / Purchasing Advisor within a prominent Defence organization. The position is primarily focused on procurement and supply chain activities within a designated area.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Assist in the formulation of procurement and supply chain strategies and plans.
  • Engage with both internal and external suppliers and customers to align with project objectives.
  • Manage day-to-day procurement of materials and subcontract services, ensuring compliance with cost, quality, delivery, and export control standards.
  • Support the selection of suppliers and prepare necessary outputs and deliverables according to departmental protocols.
  • Negotiate commercial, financial, quality, and scheduling aspects of contracts and authorized modifications.
  • Facilitate effective supplier management and oversee the open order book in accordance with the integrated project schedule.
  • Assist the Line Manager in achieving Key Performance Indicators (KPIs).
  • Identify and implement cost-saving initiatives.
  • Recognize risks and opportunities, developing and executing mitigation strategies.
  • Act as the primary liaison for assigned suppliers and customers.
  • Ensure adherence to company Export Control requirements.
  • Support in additional areas as needed based on business demands.

Qualifications:
  • Experience in a Procurement or Supply Chain Department.
  • Strong commercial and contractual understanding.
  • Familiarity with IT tools and systems (SAP knowledge is a plus).
  • Understanding of Material Requirements Planning (MRP).
  • Knowledge of the Purchase to Pay process.
  • Experience with tender processes and supplier selection.
  • Ability to interpret drawing and specification requirements.
  • Knowledge of legal frameworks related to purchasing contracts and agreements.

Ensure that all activities align with company policies and procedures, including Quality Systems, Safety, Health, and Environmental standards, as well as Responsible Business Conduct. It is essential to communicate obligations to suppliers in this regard.
