We are currently working in partnership with a local authority to fill a permanent Solicitor position in our Childcare team.

This is a full-time role based predominantly from home, with one day per week in the office in Oxford, and a salary of £41,496 to £44,539 per annum.

The ideal candidate will have recently qualified as a Solicitor and have some experience working within Childcare teams.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Delivering high-quality legal advice and services to Directorates and Corporate Services
  • Drafting documents and legal agreements to ensure that policy is formulated and operational decisions are taken on a sound legal basis
  • Carrying a caseload of legal work, largely unsupervised, within the Childcare team, and holding responsibility for completing all aspects of the task in accordance with good legal practice and client service specification
  • Undertaking legal research and preparing appropriate advice on the results of such research, including advising the council on risk and mitigations

Requirements:

  • Qualified Solicitor / CILEX Lawyer
  • Experience within local government is desirable
