About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Room Leader to join our team at Bright Horizons Surbiton Ewell Road Day Nursery and Preschool. As a key member of our nursery team, you will be responsible for leading, mentoring, and inspiring a team to deliver exceptional care and education to our young children.

Key Responsibilities
  • Lead and manage a team of early years professionals to provide high-quality care and education to children aged 0-2 years.
  • Develop and implement engaging learning programs that meet the individual needs of each child, promoting their cognitive, social, and emotional development.
  • Collaborate with colleagues, parents, and other professionals to ensure seamless communication and a positive, safe, and happy environment for all children.
  • Ensure compliance with all relevant legislation, regulations, and policies related to child welfare, protection, health, and safety, and safeguarding.
  • Contribute to the development and implementation of nursery policies, procedures, and practices that promote excellence in early years education and care.
Requirements
  • Full and relevant Level 3 or above Early Years qualification (essential).
  • Previous experience working within an Early Years setting, ideally as a Room Leader, Nursery Nurse, Nursery Practitioner, Early Years Educator, or similar.
  • Sound understanding of the Early Years Foundation Stage and relevant legislation.
  • Strong knowledge and understanding of Safeguarding, Child Protection, and the wider legislative requirements for working with children.
  • Ability to build trust and strong working relationships with both colleagues and parents.
  • Ability to use a variety of communication techniques with both children and adults.
