Job Title: Lead Data Solutions Architect

At easyJet, we're looking for a highly skilled Lead Data Solutions Architect to join our team. As a key member of our data engineering leadership team, you'll be responsible for designing and delivering production-grade data solutions that support our business needs.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Design and deliver data solutions that meet business requirements and adhere to IT technical standards.
  • Lead a small team of data engineers, providing technical guidance and support to ensure their work meets required standards.
  • Work closely with data science and analytics teams to identify opportunities for end-to-end data product solutions that drive business value.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to deliver data solutions at an enterprise level.
  • Identify new and emerging technologies, methods, and trends in data engineering and assess their potential impact on our business.
Requirements:
  • Significant experience designing and building data solutions on cloud-based, big data distributed systems.
  • Strong understanding of data concepts, data modeling principles, and software engineering principles.
  • Experience with Python, Apache Spark, and modern software development practices.
  • Cloud computing experience, including AWS, GCP, and Azure.
  • Strong SQL background and experience working with a range of cloud-based big data technologies.
Desirable:
  • Airline experience and knowledge of regulatory/data privacy requirements in a data lake architecture.
  • Cloud-based OLAP experience and provisioning infra-as-code automatically.
  • Experience with modern lakehouse platforms and solution architecture background.
