London, Greater London, United Kingdom London Communications Agency Full time

Political Insight Analyst

At London Communications Agency, we thrive in a vibrant and fast-moving atmosphere, continuously challenging ourselves and learning from one another – no two days are ever alike, and we embrace this dynamic. Joining our Insight team means becoming part of a collaborative environment.

About the Role

The Political Insight Analyst position offers an exceptional opportunity for individuals at the beginning of their professional journey (preferably with approximately 12 months of experience) to become part of a successful and expanding organization. Here, you will engage in diverse tasks across various clients within an enjoyable and motivated setting.

This role is situated within our esteemed Insight team, which spearheads the company’s monitoring and research related to political and public policy matters. The team serves as the central hub for our corporate thought leadership and intelligence-driven marketing strategies. Collaborating closely with our in-house Design, Finance, and Administrative teams, Insight supports both of our client-facing divisions.

The Political Insight Analyst will play a crucial role within the Insight team, working alongside the Insight Account Manager and the Managing Director. This position is integral to the agency's core functions. While primarily collaborating with the Account Manager, you will also have the chance to engage directly with senior management and team members across the agency to achieve optimal outcomes for our clients.

We are particularly interested in candidates who possess a solid understanding of governmental and political landscapes, with a focus on Labour politics being especially advantageous. Familiarity with policy areas such as urban planning, housing, development, transportation, and healthcare would also be beneficial. More than specific experiences, we value a genuine enthusiasm for political and policy-related topics.

We aim to enhance the Insight Team's contributions to ensure comprehensive support for the entire organization, including closer collaboration with our design, marketing, and social media departments. We welcome candidates with experience in data analysis and visualization, as well as those familiar with social media engagement.

Key Responsibilities

As a Political Insight Analyst, you will be:

Gathering and Analyzing Key Intelligence

  • Monitoring significant political issues relevant to various sectors, particularly those of interest to our clients.
  • Tracking essential policymaking and legislative processes at various governmental levels.
  • Researching political activities within local government bodies and informing account teams of key developments.
  • Observing both social and traditional media, preparing reports, and updating account teams as necessary.
  • Participating in sector conferences and political events to network and gather vital intelligence.

Supporting New Business and Marketing Initiatives

  • Assisting the Insight team in producing our popular weekly newsletter by identifying stories and trends, conducting research, and supporting the editorial process.
  • Providing research assistance for regular election briefings.
  • Helping colleagues with the design and production of marketing materials, presentations, and proposals.
  • Leading contributions to our social media channels, ensuring that the Insight team's work is effectively represented.

Maintaining Intelligence Systems

  • Managing our database of political contacts, particularly within key political parties and local agencies.
  • Coordinating with monitoring services to ensure they remain current and effective.

About You

  • Exceptional critical thinking and writing skills, capable of summarizing complex issues into concise briefings for diverse audiences.
  • Strong organizational skills, with the ability to work independently and collaboratively under pressure.
  • Proficient IT skills, particularly in Word and PowerPoint, with experience in Excel and content management systems being advantageous.
  • Creative in presenting data and insights in engaging formats for various audiences.
  • A genuine interest in politics, especially Labour politics, with a solid understanding of local and regional governance.
  • Experience in communications or public relations may be beneficial.
  • A willingness to build relationships and develop a network of valuable contacts.
  • A strong desire to learn and grow within the organization.
