Job Summary:
We are seeking a highly skilled Commodity Risk Analyst to join our team in London. As a Commodity Risk Analyst, you will be responsible for reviewing data entry in the trading system, assessing and reporting market risk control items daily/weekly/monthly, and preparing and analyzing weekly and monthly P&L reports.
Key Responsibilities:
- Review data entry in the trading system to ensure accuracy and completeness.
- Assess and report market risk control items daily/weekly/monthly, based on the Operating Policy.
- Prepare and analyze weekly and monthly P&L reports, in accordance with set deadlines.
- Complete accounting memos and requirements for the compilation of quarterly financials, as needed.
- Handle questions related to market risk control items and P&L reports from internal control and external audit.
- Ensure market price risk is captured and hedge actions are executed.
- Prepare ad-hoc reports to management to assist in position reporting, structure, and strategy.
- Facilitate the development of new systems and provide backup cover as a member of Middle Office.
Requirements:
- Advanced Excel skills and the ability to learn new systems.
- Good understanding of mathematical figures, formulas, and modeling (mainly using Microsoft Excel).
- Excellent communication skills, comfortable liaising with the team, Front Office, and internal departments.
- Ability to work under pressure while remaining calm and methodical.
- Ability to prioritize own work under the general guidance of the line/department manager.
- Very high standard of accuracy and attention to detail.
- Excellent time management skills and good interpersonal skills.
- Flexible attitude and willingness to adapt to new requirements.
Desirable Qualifications:
- Knowledge of physical commodity business.
- Knowledge of derivative instruments.
- Experience of risk management work and knowledge of risk management terms.
- Previous experience of working with SAP.
- Experience of working in a multicultural environment.
- Basic knowledge of accounting standards.
- Ability to work on own initiative with little supervision.
