Position Overview
We are thrilled to announce an opportunity for an Advanced Oncology Pharmacist to join our esteemed team at University Hospitals Plymouth NHS Trust. This role is ideal for a dedicated and proactive pharmacist eager to enhance their expertise in oncology and aseptic services.
Role Responsibilities
- Deliver high-quality, patient-centered clinical pharmacy services within the Cancer Services department.
- Ensure the safe and effective use of medications in Haematology and Oncology.
- Review systemic anti-cancer therapy prescriptions for both inpatient and outpatient settings using the ARIA electronic prescribing system.
- Act as a pivotal member of the cancer services pharmacy team, taking on leadership responsibilities in the absence of senior pharmacists.
- Collaborate closely with the Specialist Pharmacist for Aseptic Services, stepping in for the Accountable Pharmacist when necessary.
- Participate in the on-call and out-of-hours service for Cancer and Aseptic Services on a rotational basis.
- Provide education and mentorship to pharmacy staff and other healthcare professionals.
- Engage in audits and contribute to quality improvement initiatives and practice research projects.
- Support the development of guidelines and protocols within both cancer and aseptic services.
