About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled Security Solutions Architect to join our team at Wessex Water. As a key member of our security team, you will play a critical role in developing and maintaining our current security architecture, ensuring the confidentiality, integrity, and availability of our systems and data.

Key Responsibilities

  • Stay up-to-date with the latest security technologies, techniques, and standards to ensure our security architecture remains effective and efficient.
  • Develop and maintain the principles underpinning a secure architecture, ensuring it aligns with industry best practices and regulatory requirements.
  • Work with our security, operations technology (OT), and information technology (IT) teams to integrate security architecture and design processes into all capability development and acquisition activities.
  • Maintain a clear understanding of our business's diverse range of operations and requirements, its threats and risks, and identify security requirements and solutions.
  • Document our business's extant IT and OT security architectures and system security requirements, and foster the development of consistent system design documents and diagrams.
  • Develop and maintain new security architectures, policies, and patterns to provide a consistent approach to secure system development and installation.
  • Review current and emerging threats and security requirements against extant system designs and architecture to identify any impact on our security posture, while also communicating areas for improvement.
  • Assess new systems and services to identify any impact on our security posture.
  • Translate technical issues and assessments so that security concerns and risks are understood by all stakeholders.
  • Support and occasionally lead the technical design of systems and services.
  • Support Cyber Security Operations and Incident Response activities as required.

Requirements

  • Five years of experience developing security solutions and/or security architecture.
  • A Bachelor's degree in Cyber Security, Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related discipline.
  • Advanced IT, OT, or security certifications.
  • Demonstrable understanding of security risks, solutions, and controls.
  • Demonstrable understanding of project and programme methodologies and frameworks, and the placement/delivery of security architecture/design within those frameworks.
  • Demonstrable experience with common architectural models and tooling such as ArchiMate, TOGAF, Zachman, or SABSA.
