Job Title: Research Officer - Social Research

Job Summary:

The Lines Between is seeking a highly motivated and experienced Research Officer to join our team. As a Research Officer, you will play a key role in supporting the delivery of qualitative research and analysis for our growing portfolio of client accounts.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Support the recruitment of research participants
  • Gather and review documents for evidence reviews
  • Assist with the development of research tools, such as surveys and discussion guides
  • Support the delivery of focus groups
  • Support transcription processes
  • Support the recording and analysis of new business opportunities
  • Data coding and analysis
  • Produce draft sections of reports, presentations, and case studies to a high standard, including proofreading

Requirements:

  • At least two years' work-based research or consultancy experience, ideally in social research
  • Excellent social skills and experience of engaging diverse participants in research
  • Experience of supporting delivery across a range of research projects
  • Excellent writing and editing skills, including an ability to communicate complex issues and ideas in an accessible and engaging way
  • Excellent planning and time-management skills
  • Critical reading, review, and analysis skills, honed through experience of working with a range of qualitative data
  • Pro-active and flexible approach to task delivery
  • Excellent verbal communication, interpersonal, and relationship-building skills with an ability to contribute effectively and constructively within a team
  • Strong attention to detail and logical approach to information gathering and analysis
  • Capacity to work across multiple projects with different deadlines
  • Strong commercial awareness and ability to deliver on time and within budget
  • A full driving license and access to a car

The Lines Between is a social research organization that delivers objective, robust research that informs, engages, and influences a wide range of service providers, funders, stakeholders, and communities. We provide consultation analysis, evaluations, primary research, surveys, case studies, and evidence reviews, using a range of traditional and innovative approaches.
