Procurement Director Assistant

An exciting opportunity has arisen for a highly skilled Personal Assistant to support our client's Senior Director for Global Procurement.
The role is critical to the smooth running of the procurement function and requires a high level of flexibility and responsibility.
Key Responsibilities:- Provide administrative support to the Procurement Director, including document approvals, meeting organisation, travel & expense organisation.
- Booking meeting rooms, venues, catering and general events logistics (as applicable).
- Organising and storing paperwork, documents and computer-based information.
- Maintain holiday trackers for effective team management.
- Excellent IT skills – particularly with Microsoft Office Packages.
- Comfortable with data management/data manipulations.
- Experience or knowledge of project management and process improvement.
- Liaise with suppliers to manage material delivery in-line with supplier schedule (timing & quantity).
- Manage inventory levels for the supply chain against agreed budget targets.
- Timely escalation of emerging supply risks avoiding business impact.
- Ensure appropriate inventory adjustments are made to protect accuracy of supplier schedules.
- Drive supplier performance through corporate systems (SPEEDY) to penalise vendors failing to meet delivery commitments.
- Provide functional cover for other analysts to compensate for absence, training or departmental needs.
- Initiate and manage meetings with supply base representatives to discuss poor performance or ways to drive continuous improvement activities.
