We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate individual to join our Tobacco Dependence Service as a Healthcare Specialist. In this exciting opportunity, you will play a vital role in improving the physical health of individuals supported in mental health inpatient services.
As a Healthcare Specialist, you will work across hospital sites, conducting assessments and providing follow-up advice on nicotine replacement therapy and smoking cessation. You will also support clinical staff in promoting our Trust's smoke-free policy and delivering smoke-free settings.

Main Responsibilities- Act as a smoke-free champion and promote our Trust's smoke-free policy through day-to-day work and maintaining a strong clinical presence.
- Provide advice, guidance, and support to clinical staff, including assisting in providing training and teaching to reduce harm from tobacco.
- Support colleagues in maintaining high standards of clinical record-keeping regarding individualized tobacco treatment plans and smoke-free support.
- Work independently with individuals using inpatient services, recognizing when to defer to a more senior member of staff for advice and support.

Person Specification- Educated to GCSE (or equivalent) grade C or above in English and Maths.
- NVQ level 3 in Healthcare (or equivalent) or relevant experience.
- Smoking Cessation Training Level 2 or willingness to undertake within 3 months of starting in post.
- Computer literate with experience of recording information using multiple IT systems.
- Experience of providing healthcare, healthcare advice, or health promotion advice and interventions.
