The Role

We are seeking a highly skilled Principal Town Planner to join their growing team in Stoke-on-Trent. You will play a key role in shaping and assessing development projects, providing expert planning advice to a diverse range of clients.

Responsibilities:

  • Develop and evaluate planning strategies for development projects.
  • Conduct pre-application consultations and prepare comprehensive planning applications and appeals.
  • Undertake thorough site appraisals to assess development potential.
  • Engage with communities through effective consultation processes.
  • Manage planning projects, ensuring timely completion and adherence to budgets.
  • Coordinate various technical teams to deliver successful outcomes.
  • Prepare proposals and contribute to business development activities.
  • Build strong relationships with landowners, developers, architects, and local planning authorities.
  • Provide expert guidance on planning and land use matters throughout the entire planning process.
  • Mentor and support junior team members.

Requirements:

  • Chartered Town Planner status with a relevant degree in Town Planning or a related field.
  • Proven experience in preparing planning applications for both public and private sector clients.
  • Exceptional analytical and written communication skills.
  • Strong team player with excellent interpersonal skills.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, Excel, and ideally GIS software.
  • Excellent planning and organizational abilities.
  • Full driving license due to travel requirements across the UK.
