Location: Nashville, TN

Employment Duration: 12 Months

Work Schedule: Monday to Friday (8:00 AM to 4:30 PM)

Key Responsibilities:

  • Possess or be eligible for a Teacher Certificate from the Tennessee Department of Education with a specialization in Deaf Education: Hearing Impaired Teacher.
  • Demonstrate experience with Hearing Assistive Technology (HAT) and familiarity with sign language systems, particularly American Sign Language (ASL).
  • Exhibit knowledge regarding hearing devices, medical documentation, and procurement of necessary equipment.
  • Engage in collaboration with parents and educational professionals to deliver support services for children experiencing hearing loss.
  • Design and conduct training sessions focused on services for children diagnosed with hearing impairments.
  • Work in partnership with various educational institutions and state agencies to enhance language acquisition for children with hearing loss.
  • Participate in ongoing professional development to maintain expertise in the field.
