Position Overview

We are looking for enthusiastic and dynamic Cost Managers/Quantity Surveyors to support our growth in the water and utilities sector, making a meaningful difference to both our organization and UK infrastructure.

As a Cost Manager/Quantity Surveyor within our UK Infrastructure division, you will engage in a range of client and Turner & Townsend projects and initiatives.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Contributing to the realization of Turner & Townsend's strategic vision.
  • Building professional and amicable relationships with clients, colleagues, and stakeholders involved in our projects.
  • Managing various contracts in alignment with project goals and policies.
  • Delivering precise project cost monitoring, forecasting, and reporting to ensure alignment with budgetary constraints.
  • Proactively overseeing cost variances and contract cash flow, ensuring timely and accurate applications.
  • Collaborating with client and contractor teams to ensure the successful delivery of project objectives, including performance metrics, cost management, and value engineering.
  • Effectively managing contract changes to maintain governance and implement best practices.
  • Enhancing the accuracy of forecasts and budgets.
  • Providing valuable commercial insights and support to all stakeholders.
  • Negotiating and finalizing accounts.
  • Leading teams and commissions as required.
Qualifications:

Ideal candidates will possess experience or a solid understanding of the following areas:
  • Strong communication skills.
  • Contract Management (preferably NEC3, Option C).
  • Cost Management expertise.
  • Change management and control.
  • Valuation techniques.
  • Risk Management practices.
  • Procurement processes.
  • Estimating methodologies.
  • Pricing strategies.
  • Reporting standards.
  • A collaborative approach with a focus on project success.
  • Sharing best practices within teams.
  • People management capabilities.
  • Commission management experience.
  • Identifying and implementing efficiencies throughout the project lifecycle.
  • Comprehensive knowledge of construction industry technical aspects, including procurement routes, value management, and value engineering.
  • A degree (or equivalent) in a relevant field is preferred.
  • Membership or progress towards a relevant professional body is advantageous.
