About the Role

We are currently seeking a Senior Civils Project Engineering Manager to join our team on a permanent basis, working on a major project located in Warrington.

Key Responsibilities
  • Coordinate and implement engineering activities for assigned projects, maintaining close working relationships with Project Managers and Engineering teams.
  • Assist in establishing and implementing project manpower needs, coordinating technical activities among disciplines.
  • Ensure compliance with statutory and licensing requirements, conducting design of technically sound, safe, and operable plants with high reliability.
  • Prepare and issue Engineering Execution Plans, incorporating customer requirements, procedures, and standards.
  • Compile lists from each discipline to develop master document lists for projects.
  • Work with project stakeholders to develop subcontract and work package descriptions consistent with the contracting plan.
  • Coordinate development of work-hour estimates and transfer information to Project Controls for engineering cost estimates.
  • Collaborate with other departments participating on the project, scheduling and coordinating meetings between Project Engineering, customers, and outside groups.
  • Keep project stakeholders informed of project progress, performance, and manpower utilization, highlighting delays, adverse trends, errors, and omissions.
  • Ensure proper documentation of meetings, agreements, conversations, and other project-related activities.
  • Coordinate customer engineering comments, approvals, and requests with functional activities of all disciplines.
  • Encourage and assist in the technical and managerial development of subordinates.
  • Coordinate Independent Engineering Design Reviews by discipline engineering management.
  • Review engineering performance to ensure quality, conformance with conceptual design, and completeness of engineering tasks.
  • Promptly review Design Change Notices, identify change order candidates, segregate cost collection, and assist the Project Manager in pertinent aspects of change order management.
Requirements
  • Ideal candidate holds a degree in a relevant engineering discipline.
  • Ideal candidate is Chartered or working towards Chartered status.
  • Candidate has held a similar engineering management position.
  • Candidate has proven experience within a highly regulated construction sector, including commissioning.
  • Candidate has knowledge of safety case justification.
  • Candidate has a sound understanding of building regulations and planning submissions of CDM regulations.
  • Candidate currently holds SC clearance or is prepared to undergo the SC process.
