The Opportunity

CITIC Pacific Mining Management is seeking an experienced Electrical Engineer to join our team in Cape Preston. As a key member of our Power Plant team, you will be responsible for providing engineering advice, expertise, and guidelines for commissioning, operation, and maintenance of our state-of-the-art power station.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Provide technical support for the operation and maintenance of electrical systems, including generators, transformers, switchgear, and circuit breakers.
  • Develop and implement maintenance schedules, inspect equipment, and manage spare parts inventory.
  • Collaborate with the Superintendent - Electrical Engineering to ensure compliance with regulations, Australian Standards, and industrial practices.
  • Develop and maintain technical documentation, including procedures, acceptance inspection criteria, and budgets for inspection and maintenance.
  • Participate in acceptance inspections and testing, and develop process optimization and performance improvement initiatives.
Requirements:
  • Current WA Drivers Licence is essential.
  • Electrical Engineering degree or equivalent with at least 2 years' experience in an engineering environment involved in Power System design, commissioning, operation, and maintenance.
  • Sound knowledge of electrical engineering, electrical system operation, protection, and control.
  • Professional knowledge of generator, transformer, switchgear, circuit breaker, electric motor, VSD, CT, PT, protection relay, etc.
  • Familiarity with operation procedure, periodic inspection & testing items and criteria, maintenance & overhaul procedure, and acceptance inspection criteria of the equipment mentioned above.
  • Familiarity with content of asset management, using relevant asset management software (SAP).
  • Relevant knowledge of Australian Standards/Practices and statutory requirements relating to the position.
