Teaching Assistant Opportunity

We are seeking a dedicated and passionate Teaching Assistant to join our team and support secondary-aged students with social, emotional, or behavioural difficulties.

As a Teaching Assistant, you will have the opportunity to work with a diverse group of students and make a positive impact on their lives. You will be responsible for assisting teachers in the delivery of a engaging curriculum, providing one-on-one support to students with individualised learning plans, and fostering a positive and inclusive classroom environment.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Assist teachers in delivering a diverse and engaging curriculum
  • Provide one-on-one support to students with individualised learning plans
  • Foster a positive and inclusive classroom environment
  • Monitor and manage student behaviour and wellbeing
  • Support the development of social and emotional skills
  • Collaborate with teachers and other staff to create an effective learning environment
  • Prepare and adapt learning materials to meet the needs of students
  • Assist with administrative tasks as needed
  • Communicate effectively with parents, carers, and external agencies as required

Qualifications:

  • Candidates will need an enhanced DBS check or the willingness to obtain one
  • Minimum of a high school diploma; a relevant teaching assistant qualification is desirable
  • Previous experience working with secondary-aged students in an educational setting
  • A compassionate and empathetic approach to supporting young people with diverse needs
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills
  • The ability to work effectively as part of a team
  • Resilience and adaptability when faced with challenging situations
  • A commitment to continuous professional development
