Job Summary:

Central Bedfordshire Council is seeking a highly skilled and experienced professional to lead its Highway Maintenance Team. As Head of Highway Maintenance, you will be responsible for overseeing the management of the Council's road network, ensuring the safety and sustainability of its highways assets.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead the Highway Maintenance Team in delivering high-quality services to the community.
  • Develop and implement effective strategies for highway asset management, routine and reactive maintenance, and structural maintenance.
  • Provide operational and strategic leadership to the Highway Maintenance services, ensuring excellent customer service and responsiveness.
  • Manage supplier relationships and contract performance, ensuring the delivery of revenue and capital programmes of work.
  • Advocate for continuous improvement and corporate change, leading by example in line with the Council's values.
