Job Summary

We are seeking a motivated and compassionate Care Support Specialist to join our team in Plymouth. As a Care Support Specialist, you will play a vital role in supporting an individual with a spinal cord injury in their own home, assisting with personal care, administration of medication, and other daily tasks.

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide personal care and support to the individual, including bathing, dressing, and toileting
  • Administer medication as required
  • Assist with household tasks, such as cleaning and laundry
  • Accompany the individual to appointments and outings
  • Provide companionship and emotional support
  • Encourage fluid intake and nutrition
  • Support the individual with administrative tasks, such as managing finances and correspondence
  • Safeguard the individual's well-being and ensure their safety at all times

Requirements

  • Previous experience in care work, preferably with individuals with spinal cord injuries
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team
  • Compassionate and empathetic approach to care
  • Valid Enhanced DBS check and right to work in the UK
