Job Summary

We are seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented Domestic Support Assistant to join our team at Ayrshire Central Hospital in Irvine. As a key member of our Domestic Services Department, you will play a vital role in maintaining a clean and safe environment for our patients, staff, and visitors.

Key Responsibilities

As a Domestic Support Assistant, your primary duties will include:

  • Providing a wide range of domestic services to support clinical services throughout Ayrshire and Arran.
  • Ensuring the cleanliness and maintenance of hospital facilities, including wards, corridors, and public areas.
  • Operating industrial cleaning equipment and using cleaning chemicals safely and effectively.
  • Working collaboratively with other departments to ensure seamless delivery of services.
  • Adhering to NHS Scotland's National Cleaning Services Specification and Healthcare Environment Inspectorate Standards.

Requirements

To be successful in this role, you will need:

  • Experience working in a healthcare environment, preferably in a domestic services or cleaning role.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Physical fitness to perform the demands of the role.
  • Flexibility to work in various areas of the hospital, including Woodland View and Ayrshire Central Hospital.
