Job Summary

We are seeking an experienced Programme and Project Manager with line management responsibilities to join our team at the NHS Business Services Authority. As a key member of our Programme and Project Management community, you will be responsible for delivering programmes and projects that meet the needs of our customers, while also providing line management support to project delivery professionals.

Key Responsibilities
  • Line manage, coach, and mentor project delivery professionals to ensure they have the skills and knowledge needed to deliver programmes and projects successfully.
  • Deliver programmes and projects that meet the needs of our customers, while also ensuring that they are delivered within budget and to the required quality standards.
  • Manage stakeholder relationships and ensure that the needs of all stakeholders are met.
  • Identify and mitigate risks and issues that may impact the delivery of programmes and projects.
  • Develop and implement effective change management strategies to ensure that programmes and projects are delivered smoothly and with minimal disruption.
Requirements
  • Strong stakeholder management and communication skills.
  • Ability to build effective relationships with, and influence, senior stakeholders.
  • Resilient and determined, with strong negotiation skills and ability to constructively challenge.
  • Ability to communicate sensitive or contentious information appropriately.
Desirable Qualifications and Experience
  • Programme management practitioner qualification (e.g. MSP) and project management practitioner qualification (e.g. Prince2).
  • Significant experience in team leadership and managing virtual teams.
  • Significant experience and track record in successful definition and delivery of programmes and projects using recognised delivery frameworks.
