We are seeking a skilled Culinary Team Member to join our team at The Harcourt Arms, a prestigious restaurant in the heart of Oxfordshire. As a Culinary Team Member, you will be responsible for assisting the Head Chef and Sous Chef in creating menu items, recipes, and developing dishes that showcase the finest ingredients and culinary techniques.
Key Responsibilities:
- Assist the Head Chef and Sous Chef in creating menu items, recipes, and developing dishes that meet the highest standards of quality and presentation.
- Prepare, cook, and present high-quality ingredients for your section, ensuring that all dishes are cooked to perfection and presented in an attractive and appealing manner.
- Assist with the management of food hygiene practices, ensuring that all kitchen equipment and utensils are clean and sanitized at all times.
- Manage, train, and mentor junior chefs, providing guidance and support to help them develop their skills and knowledge.
- Monitor portion and waste control, ensuring that all food is prepared and served in a timely and efficient manner.
- Highlight any concerns to the Head Chef or Sous Chef, ensuring that all issues are addressed promptly and effectively.
- Support the Head Chef and Sous Chef to ensure that the kitchen team complies with all health and safety, food safety, and hygiene standards.
- Responsible for ensuring all kitchen equipment in your section is maintained and used in a safe and correct manner.
Qualifications and Key Attributes:
- Working proficiency in English is essential.
- Minimum 2 years experience in a professional kitchen.
- Positive, can-do mentality.
