About the Role

Pearson is seeking a highly skilled and motivated Apprentice Systems Engineer to join our team. As a key member of our team, you will play a vital role in supporting the development and implementation of our end-point assessment processes.

Key Responsibilities
  1. Contribute to the recruitment and training of new assessors within the allocated team.
  2. Support assessors to develop assessment practice through face-to-face and remote standardisation activities, including sharing best practice and identifying appropriate CPD activities.
  3. Undertake remote sampling of assessors' assessments, in line with the overarching sampling strategy.
  4. Accompany assessors, remotely or on-site, when required.
  5. Provide advice/guidance to assessors when using electronic systems.
  6. Contribute to ongoing analysis, lessons learned and continuous improvement.
  7. Maintain accurate records to withstand internal audit and external quality audit.
  8. Take an active role in own professional development.
  9. Adhere and implement all Pearson and regulatory policies, procedures and guidance documents.
  10. Produce a quarterly report based on feedback from team leaders, internal quality assurers and assessors to identify any trends.
  11. Identify, report, and escalate any risks which could compromise the validity and accuracy of any end-point assessment.
Requirements
  1. Relevant experience of the occupation/sector gained in the last three years or significant experience of the occupation/sector and evidence of continued professional development.
  2. Hold an internal quality assurance qualification for a minimum of three years.
  3. Experience of supporting and managing teams of assessors (remote or face-to-face).
  4. Experience of complying with quality assurance/regulatory requirements.
Desirable Requirements
  1. Current DBS.
  2. Sufficient and relevant technical knowledge of the legislation, regulatory frameworks, systems, technology, tools, and processes associated with the EPA(s).
  3. In-depth knowledge of the associated apprenticeship standard, assessment plan, specification, assessment instruments and recording tools.
Additional Requirements
  1. Have personal IT equipment capable of running Pearson required software.
  2. Have a personal and secure email account.
  3. Have a postal address in the United Kingdom or Republic of Ireland, Guernsey, Jersey, Isle of Man.
  4. Allow additional time for travel, when making EPA arrangements.
