Job Overview

**Job Title:** Mechanical Design Engineer

**Job Type:** Permanent

**Location:** Newport

**Salary:** £35,000 - £45,000 per annum (DOE)

**About the Role:**

We are seeking a highly skilled Mechanical Design Engineer to join our team at Premier Group Recruitment. As a Mechanical Design Engineer, you will be responsible for designing and developing mechanical systems and products.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Design and develop mechanical systems and products using 3D CAD software
  • Produce engineering documents and specifications in line with contracts and projects
  • Liaise with colleagues and stakeholders to ensure effective communication and collaboration
  • Generate Bills of Materials (BOMs) and other technical documentation
  • Work closely with the engineering team to ensure seamless project execution

Requirements:

  • Strong knowledge and experience of mechanical design and engineering principles
  • Excellent 3D CAD skills, preferably with Solidworks or Inventor
  • Knowledge of manufacturing processes, including machining and fabrication
  • Understanding of various materials, including sheet metal and injection moulded plastics
  • Good communication and teamwork skills
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team
  • Excellent proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite
