Job Description

Job Title: Registered Children's Nurse

Job Summary:

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Registered Children's Nurse to join our team. The successful candidate will be responsible for assessing, implementing, and evaluating programs of physical, social, and emotional care for children and adolescents.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Assessment and Care Planning: Conduct comprehensive assessments of children's physical, social, and emotional needs, and develop individualized care plans to address these needs.
  • Program Implementation and Evaluation: Implement and evaluate programs of care, ensuring that they are evidence-based and aligned with current clinical and academic evidence, national standards, and relevant reports.
  • Collaboration and Communication: Liaise and communicate effectively with other members of the nursing and multi-disciplinary team to plan and deliver care.
  • Advocacy and Support: Act as an advocate for children receiving care, providing emotional support and guidance to them and their families.
  • Professional Development: Contribute to the development of evidence-based practice in the Children's Service, and engage in reflective practice to improve care delivery.
  • Innovation and Change: Identify opportunities for innovative change within the Children's Service, and work to implement these changes in line with current clinical and academic evidence, national standards, and relevant reports.

Requirements:

  • Registered Children's Nurse with current registration with the NMC.
  • Experience in pediatric care, preferably in a hospital or community setting.
  • Strong assessment and care planning skills, with ability to develop and implement individualized care plans.
  • Excellent communication and collaboration skills, with ability to work effectively with multidisciplinary teams.
  • Ability to provide emotional support and guidance to children and their families.
  • Commitment to ongoing professional development and evidence-based practice.
