Accountancy Practice Accountant

A fantastic opportunity has arisen for a skilled Accountant to join a dynamic and forward-thinking Accountancy practice in Waterlooville. As a Client Accountant, you will be responsible for managing and developing your own portfolio of client accounts, working closely with the Accountancy Manager to deliver exceptional results.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Preparation and submission of accounts and tax returns for clients
  • Preparation and review of bookkeeping and VAT returns
  • Assessing and advising clients on their tax position
  • Reviewing the tax efficiency of clients
  • Liaising between clients and HM Revenue & Customs to resolve queries and ensure all internal and statutory deadlines are met
  • Preparing and attending year-end client meetings as required
Requirements:
  • Previous experience within an Accountancy practice
  • Knowledge of managing end-to-end accounts
  • Fully qualified (ACCA, ACA, AAT)
  • Excellent communication skills
  • Ability to work to tight deadlines both internally and externally (HMRC)
  • Advanced skills in MS Office, in particular Excel
  • A sound working knowledge of QuickBooks and Xero (desirable)
