About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled Relief Chef Manager to join our team at Thomas Franks Ltd. As a key member of our culinary team, you will be responsible for supporting our business across the M40 Corridor region and surrounding areas.

Key Responsibilities
  • To cover Head Chef/Chef Manager holiday and sickness, ensuring seamless service delivery and maintaining high standards of food quality and presentation.
  • To support with mobilisations, including menu planning, inventory management, and staff training.
  • To troubleshoot at locations requiring additional support, providing expert culinary guidance and resolving issues efficiently.
  • To cover a vacancy, taking on additional responsibilities and contributing to the success of our business.
  • To produce high-quality food for service, using fresh ingredients, cooking from scratch, and adhering to our company's brand standards.
  • To create bespoke seasonal menus from regional and local suppliers, showcasing your creativity and culinary expertise.
  • To complete food costings as required, ensuring accurate financial management and contributing to the company's profitability.
  • To complete company bookwork, maintaining accurate records and contributing to the smooth operation of our business.
  • To ensure company food standards are adhered to, controlling wastage and maintaining a clean and safe working environment.
  • To ensure all Food Hygiene and Health & Safety policies and allergen control procedures are followed, maintaining a safe and healthy working environment for our staff and customers.
Requirements
  • A genuine interest in food and excellent customer service skills, with a passion for delivering exceptional dining experiences.
  • Excellent client relationship skills, with the ability to build strong relationships with our clients and stakeholders.
  • An all-round team player and leader, with the ability to motivate and inspire our team members.
  • Innovation and passion for great food, with a commitment to using fresh, seasonal ingredients and creating menus that delight our customers.
  • An organised Relief Chef Manager with attention to detail, with the ability to manage multiple tasks and priorities effectively.
  • Sound financial understanding, with the ability to manage budgets and make informed financial decisions.
Knowledge and Competencies
  • Ability to demonstrate a good understanding and use of verbal English, with excellent communication skills.
  • Ability to demonstrate a good standard of written English and reading skills, with the ability to read and understand complex documents.
  • Similar experience of customer and/or food preparation environment, with a proven track record of delivering high-quality food and excellent customer service.
  • Hold a recognised cooking qualification, such as City & Guild 706/1 & 2 or equivalent, with a commitment to ongoing professional development.
  • Hold a level 3 food Hygiene qualification, with a strong understanding of food safety and hygiene practices.
