About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Maintenance Engineer to join our team at Macfarlane Packaging. As a key member of our maintenance team, you will be responsible for ensuring the smooth operation of our manufacturing facilities, maintaining and improving health and safety standards, and contributing to the overall success of our business.

Key Responsibilities
  • Maintain, modify, and install plant, services, and facilities across our sites, ensuring compliance with company procedures and statutory regulations.
  • Conduct fault-finding and repair of electrical and mechanical equipment, including motors, drives, gearboxes, and hydraulic systems.
  • Implement and adhere to Planned Preventative Maintenance schedules to minimize downtime and optimize equipment performance.
  • Travel between sites to support breakdowns and business requirements, with flexibility to work outside of normal hours and remit as needed.
  • Collaborate with colleagues to identify and implement process improvements, ensuring a safe and efficient working environment.
Requirements
  • Proven experience in mechanical maintenance, with a strong understanding of electrical systems and principles.
  • 17th/18th edition electrical qualification or equivalent, with ability to read electrical drawings and test electrical installations.
  • Multi-skilled with electrical bias, with experience in fault-finding, repair, and maintenance of electrical and mechanical equipment.
  • Excellent problem-solving and communication skills, with ability to work effectively in a team environment.
  • Flexibility to work at various sites, with occasional overtime and varied working hours.
