Key Responsibilities:
As a leading contractor in the water sector, our client is engaged in various non-infrastructure projects related to water and wastewater across the Midlands. The Senior Commercial Lead will be instrumental in:
  • Developing and implementing commercial strategies to enhance profitability.
  • Building and maintaining strong client relationships.
  • Overseeing the commercial performance of projects.
  • Providing commercial and contractual guidance to the procurement team.
  • Contributing to the ongoing refinement of commercial strategies for pre-construction and construction phases.
  • Leading the commercial team throughout project lifecycles.
  • Regularly assessing commercial resource levels to ensure optimal project delivery.
  • Advising on commercial resourcing needs to senior management.
  • Assisting in the recruitment of commercial personnel.
  • Facilitating contractual and commercial training for team members.
  • Supporting the continuous improvement of commercial processes and procedures.

Qualifications:
The ideal candidate will possess:
  • A robust background in commercial management, ideally within a tier 1 contracting environment.
  • A degree or HND in Quantity Surveying or a related construction discipline.
  • Experience with NEC contracts.
  • Previous exposure to the water or construction sectors, particularly in joint venture settings, is advantageous but not mandatory.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications, especially Excel.
