Job Title: Electrical Quantity Surveyor

Join O'Hanlon & Farrell Contracts Ltd, a leading Electrical Contractor with over 40 years of experience, as we seek a skilled Electrical Quantity Surveyor to play a key role in our Electrical Division.

About the Role:

We are looking for a highly motivated and experienced Electrical Quantity Surveyor to join our team. As a key member of our Commercial Team, you will be responsible for:

  • Bringing commercial acumen and strong negotiating skills to ensure the best outcome for the company.
  • Reviewing and liaising with internal operations on Subcontractor/Specialists Monthly Claims/Payments.
  • Negotiating Client & Subcontractor Final Accounts.
  • Preparing, issuing, and monitoring Monthly Client Valuations.
  • Monitoring Project costs against budgets and raising/resolving queries where necessary.
  • Attending Pre-contract meetings and routinely liaising with both Clients, Specialists & internal operations/procurement teams.
  • Visiting site to Pricing Variations, Monitoring & Reviewing Supply Chain performance.
  • Working with Finance to advise on and reconciling Actual & Forecast Costs to Budgets.
  • Overseeing commercial and contractual aspects of relationships with clients, consultants, and subcontractors.
  • Supporting Business Development & Tendering Team where required.
  • Liaising with Estimating Team in handover of awarded projects to the Contracts team, BOQ & Budgets.
  • Ownership of monitoring Project drawings to ensure all updates/changes are captured, reported & priced to Clients.
  • Monitoring Schedules/Programs against Labour Performance.
  • Developing and maintaining strong relationships with stakeholders, including subcontractors, suppliers, and consultants.
  • Mentor and support junior members of the commercial team.
About You:

We are looking for a highly motivated and experienced Electrical Quantity Surveyor with:

  • A relevant Degree or Relevant Qualification OR Qualified Electrician with Relevant Experience OR Quantity Surveyor Experience within Construction.
  • Good IT skills (including proficiency in using Microsoft Excel and Word).
  • A full driving license.
  • A strong understanding of construction contracts and relevant regulations (Desirable).
  • Electrical Contractor Experience/Knowledge (Desirable).
  • A technical knowledge of Electrical installations ranging from domestic to large commercial / industrial (Desirable).
