Position Overview - Java AWS Technical Architect

Role Summary:

As a Java AWS Technical Architect, you will play a pivotal role in designing and executing robust, scalable, and high-performance cloud solutions utilizing Java and AWS technologies. You will collaborate closely with cross-functional teams, including developers, project managers, and stakeholders, to architect and implement solutions that align with the strategic goals of the organization.

Key Responsibilities:

Architectural Leadership:

  • Design and architect cloud-based solutions on AWS utilizing Java frameworks.
  • Provide technical guidance and mentorship to junior developers and engineers.
  • Establish and enforce architectural guidelines, standards, and best practices.

Solution Design and Development:

  • Evaluate complex business challenges and convert them into detailed technical specifications.
  • Design and develop microservices and serverless architectures.
  • Create high-quality code, ensuring it is well-documented, scalable, and secure.

Cloud Infrastructure Management:

  • Design, implement, and oversee AWS cloud infrastructure, including EC2, S3, Lambda, RDS, and other services.
  • Ensure solutions are highly available and have disaster recovery plans in place.
  • Optimize resource utilization and manage costs effectively on AWS.

Collaboration and Stakeholder Engagement:

  • Work closely with project managers, business analysts, and stakeholders to define project requirements and deliverables.
  • Collaborate with DevOps teams to ensure seamless deployment and operational performance.
  • Participate in architecture review and planning sessions.

Performance and Optimization:

  • Implement performance tuning and optimization strategies for cloud applications.
  • Conduct regular code reviews and system audits to ensure adherence to best practices.
  • Troubleshoot and resolve complex technical challenges.

Continuous Improvement:

  • Stay informed about the latest industry trends and AWS services.
  • Assess and recommend new technologies and tools to enhance productivity and efficiency.
  • Promote continuous improvement and innovation within the team and projects.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related discipline.
  • 10+ years of experience in software development with a strong focus on Java.
  • Extensive experience with AWS services and architecture, including EC2, S3, Lambda, RDS, VPC, and others.
  • Demonstrated success in designing and deploying cloud-native applications and microservices.
  • Strong knowledge of RESTful APIs, Spring Boot, Hibernate, and related Java frameworks.
  • Experience with containerization technologies such as Docker and orchestration tools like Kubernetes.
  • Proficiency in CI/CD tools like Jenkins, GitLab, or AWS CodePipeline.
  • Solid understanding of security best practices for cloud environments.
  • Excellent problem-solving skills and analytical thinking.
  • Strong communication skills with the ability to convey technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders.
  • AWS Certified Solutions Architect (Associate/Professional) certification is a plus.
