Job Title: Community Outreach Officer

We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Community Outreach Officer to join our team at King's College Hospital NHS Foundation Trust. The successful candidate will be responsible for delivering a sexual health outreach service for at-risk groups in the community, promoting healthy behaviors and providing education and support to individuals and communities.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Provide outreach services to identified at-risk groups in the community, including schools and clinics
  • Encourage under 25s to participate in the National Chlamydia Screening Programme (NCSP) by testing for Chlamydia and Gonorrhoea
  • Increase referrals into sexual health services from non-clinical settings
  • Support the delivery of C Card training to professionals and provide ongoing support to professionals
  • Provide information, advice, and appropriate material at various campaigns throughout the year, including World AIDS Day and 6th form campaigns in schools
Requirements:
  • ONVQ/Diploma/BTEC in Youth work, education, counselling, health, or social care or equivalent experience
  • Knowledge of current sexual health issues related to young people and those most at risk
  • Experience of delivery workshops to a wide audience in community settings and in schools, including assemblies
  • Working with people from diverse backgrounds and with varying needs
