Financial Operations Manager

Arthur Grosvenor Recruitment is representing a prominent digital and gaming enterprise that is currently expanding its operations and is in search of talented professionals.

The organization is keen to onboard a seasoned Finance Operations Manager who is prepared to advance to the role of Financial Controller. This individual should possess substantial experience in finance management and be ready to support the Finance Director.

This position offers a hybrid working arrangement, with employees expected to be present in the office for the first three days of the week, while enjoying the flexibility to work remotely on the latter two days.

As the Financial Operations Manager, you will oversee a team of finance professionals, driving the finance department to align with the strategic goals of the organization.

Your responsibilities will include:

  • Leading the implementation of a Cash Flow AI automation project.
  • Managing the annual audit process and assisting with tax compliance filings.
  • Establishing innovative initiatives to modernize finance and accounting practices.

Additionally, you will:

  • Be accountable for monthly and quarterly balance sheet reconciliations.
  • Develop a stock and inventory monitoring system with regular management oversight.
  • Collaborate in the departmental budgeting process and conduct variance analysis.
  • Ensure that all finance and accounting standard operating procedures are established and adhered to.
  • Implement payroll control processes for externally managed functions.
  • Guarantee compliance with statutory laws and financial regulations.
  • Provide technical accounting guidance and research for relevant accounting treatments.
  • Establish lease accounting for the new property portfolio.

Your role will also involve:

  • Month-end reporting, balance sheet reconciliation, and overseeing statutory accounts.
  • Preparation of relevant reports for various tax filings.
  • Working closely with the Finance Director on optimization initiatives and ad hoc tasks, including driving automation and simplification of finance processes.

Qualifications:

  • ACCA/CIMA Qualified with a minimum of 3 years of post-qualification experience.
  • Advanced proficiency in Excel.
  • Familiarity with Xero is preferred.
  • Strong finance and accounting knowledge, particularly in lease accounting and property portfolio management under UK GAAP, FRS 102.
  • Experience in accounting consolidation.
  • Knowledge of NEST Pension.
