Job Title: Azure Data Engineer

We are seeking an experienced Azure Data Engineer to join our team at Rethink. As a key member of our data engineering team, you will be responsible for designing, building, and maintaining large-scale data pipelines using Azure Data Factory and DataBricks.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Collaborate with stakeholders to gather requirements and ensure delivered solutions meet their needs.
  • Work with solution architects to break down and estimate packages of work and contribute to design documents and review process.

Deliver a Suite of Data Models:

  • Building robust data pipelines to extract, transform, and load data from various sources into data storage systems.
  • Cleaning, aggregating, and structuring raw data into a usable format for analysis.
  • Developing data models to support data analysis and business intelligence needs.

Requirements:

  • A university degree or equivalent IT experience.
  • Experience using Azure Data Factory (5 years).
  • Experience using DataBricks (5 years).
  • Solid understanding of SQL queries for retrieving and manipulating data from relational databases.
  • Python experience is desirable.
  • Familiarity with Agile delivery methods and experience with Azure DevOps or JIRA.
  • Solid understanding of database design principles and data modelling.
  • Experience with modern dashboarding platforms such as Power BI, Tableau, and Qlik would be advantageous.

About the Role:

This is a contract role initially for 6 months with a view to extend. The organisation is located in Chessington, Surrey, and offers hybrid working with onsite presence once a week and WFH for the remainder of the week.
