Vehicle Workshop Foreman/Manger Opportunity

Venesky-Brown's client, a public sector organisation in Rugby, is seeking a skilled Vehicle Workshop Foreman/Manger for a 12-20 week contract. This role will be based onsite and offers a competitive hourly rate.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Manage the day-to-day operations of the vehicle workshop, ensuring all work meets high standards and service targets.
  • Oversee and participate in the repair, maintenance, and servicing of a diverse fleet of vehicles, adhering to VOSA regulations and preparing for MOTs.
  • Maintain accurate servicing and maintenance records in accordance with Operator's Licence requirements.
  • Assist in the planning and implementation of a Business Development Plan to offer external services and generate additional income for the Council.
  • Manage stocks of consumable materials and purchase replacement parts as needed.
  • Liaise with Councillors, the public, and customers, resolving requests and complaints efficiently.

Essential Skills:

  • Experience working with heavy vehicles, plant, and commercial vehicles.
  • Knowledge of electrics and hydraulics systems.
  • LGV Class II Driving Licence.
  • Knowledge and experience of Electric Vehicles.
  • A commitment to work within our CAN DO values.

Desirable Skills:

  • Supervisory experience.
  • City & Guilds qualified mechanic or NVQ3 in Vehicle Mechanics.
  • Experience working with refuse and sweeping vehicles.
  • Knowledge of V.O.S.A Servicing & O Licence requirements.
