About The Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Yard Person to join our Plant & Fleet Solutions Service team based in Castleford.

As a Yard Person, you will play a pivotal role in the day-to-day operations of our yard and workshop, ensuring that all equipment and vehicles are properly maintained, prepared, and stored.

You will be responsible for ensuring the yard area and workshop are kept clean and tidy, and that all equipment and vehicles are parked and stored safely.

You will also be responsible for preparing and minor repairing of plant and vehicles, as well as carrying out forklift usage in the yard and workshop.

Additionally, you will be responsible for collecting and delivering vehicles, working with the workshop staff for the movement and preparation of plant, and facilitating 3rd party working on site by service providers.

You will also be responsible for controlling external collections and deliveries within the yard, and ensuring that all Safely, Healthy, Environmental & Quality (SHEQ) policies and procedures are adhered to.

What You'll Bring
  • Previous experience as a Yard Operative or a similar role
  • The usage of steam cleaning equipment on plant and vehicles
  • Vehicle valeting and general preparation for hire
  • Driving license essential
  • Fork Lift License 3 ton (Counter Balance) is desirable but training will be given
  • Yard day to day marshalling and control
  • Effective communication skills
