About the Role

Glasgow Caledonian University is seeking a highly skilled and experienced academic to join our Department of Computing as an Academic Leader. As a key member of our team, you will play a leadership role in shaping the future of our Computing programs and contributing to our research excellence.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead the development and delivery of undergraduate and postgraduate Computing programs
  • Contribute to the research profile of the Department, with a focus on Software Development, Software Engineering, Data Science, Artificial Intelligence, Cloud Computing, Data Engineering, Internet of Things, and Secure Software Development
  • Collaborate with industry partners to develop innovative teaching and research initiatives
  • Supervise PhD students and contribute to the development of our research community
  • Engage in knowledge exchange activities, including the development of industry partnerships and the dissemination of research findings

Requirements

  • PhD in a relevant field or equivalent significant industry experience
  • Relevant research expertise in Software Development, Software Engineering, Data Science, Artificial Intelligence, Cloud Computing, Data Engineering, Internet of Things, and Secure Software Development
  • Excellent teaching and leadership skills, with experience in developing and delivering undergraduate and postgraduate programs
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively with industry partners and stakeholders
