Job Title: Advanced Physiotherapy Practitioner

We are seeking an experienced Physiotherapist to join our First Contact Physiotherapy service in NHS Highland, covering a maternity leave. This is an exciting opportunity to work alongside GPs and other professionals in rural general practice, gaining experience as an Advanced Physiotherapy Practitioner in primary care.

The ideal candidate will possess advanced clinical knowledge and expertise in assessing, diagnosing, and treating musculoskeletal conditions. They should demonstrate a high standard of clinical care, with previous specialist experience in this field. Injection skills and prescribing are essential components of this role, and the successful candidate will be expected to work towards completing both qualifications if they do not already hold them.

Job share and part-time applications will be considered. A full current driving license and use of a car for work purposes are essential.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Assess, diagnose, and treat musculoskeletal conditions
  • Work alongside GPs and other professionals in rural general practice
  • Develop and implement treatment plans
  • Prescribe and administer injections
  • Collaborate with the Lochaber Physiotherapy Team
Requirements:
  • Advanced clinical knowledge and expertise in musculoskeletal conditions
  • Previous specialist experience in this field
  • Injection skills and prescribing qualifications

NHS Scotland is committed to reducing its full-time working week from 37.5 to 37 hours per week from 1 April 2024, with no change in pay. This reduction will also be applied pro rata for part-time staff. However, some service areas may require temporary adjustments to working patterns.
