Field Based Technician - Electric Vehicles

EVEREC is seeking a dedicated Field Based Technician specializing in Electric Vehicles. This role involves traveling to various client locations to perform essential diagnostics, repairs, and maintenance on electric vehicles.

Position Overview:

The primary responsibility of this position is to provide on-site technical support and solutions for electric vehicles. The ideal candidate will possess strong interpersonal skills to establish rapport with clients, diagnose vehicle issues effectively, and deliver timely resolutions.

Working Hours:

The standard working hours are from 8:00 AM to 4:30 PM, with opportunities for overtime and occasional weekend work as needed.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Diagnosing and repairing electric vehicles at client sites.
  • Performing maintenance tasks on electric vehicles.
  • Assembling electric vehicles, including disassembly and assembly of motors, gearboxes, and power electronics.
  • Interpreting technical drawings, manuals, and specifications.
  • Conducting diagnostic checks and ensuring quality of completed work.
  • Traveling frequently to client or supplier locations across the UK, with rare international travel.
  • Communicating effectively with clients on-site.

Qualifications:

  • NVQ Level 3 or HNC/BTEC in Engineering.
  • A valid UK driver's license is required.

Essential Skills and Experience:

  • A minimum of 3 years' experience in roadside repairs.
  • Proficiency in using diagnostic software.
  • Strong diagnostic skills in both electrical and mechanical systems.
  • At least 4 years of experience in vehicle maintenance, with a focus on pneumatics and hydraulics.
  • Ability to operate tools and machinery related to the assembly and repair of electric vehicles.
  • Excellent organizational and planning skills.
  • Ability to manage time effectively while working independently in the field.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills.
  • Ability to work under pressure with a high level of accuracy and attention to detail.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications, including Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint, Teams, and SharePoint.
  • Understanding of health and safety regulations and the use of personal protective equipment (PPE).
  • Physical fitness is necessary for lifting and manual handling tasks.
