We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Electrical Technical Manager to join our UK MEICA team at Laing O'Rourke. As a key member of our Systems Engineering & Assurance Team, you will play a crucial role in ensuring technical excellence, assurance, and performance across all our projects in the UK.

**Key Responsibilities**

  • Collaborate with the MEICA System Engineering and Assurance Team to deliver high-quality technical solutions.
  • Develop and maintain company 'Standard Equipment and Minimum Requirements Specifications' to ensure compliance with contractual and statutory requirements.
  • Liaise with procurement clusters leads and the company's preferred and approved supply chain to ensure specifications are robust but not restrictive to trading.
  • Establish and maintain company 'Inspection and Testing Procedures' (ITPs) to ensure technical compliance.
  • Support the Chief Electrical Engineer in conducting technical audits/peer reviews on projects to ensure technical compliance.
  • Support the Chief Electrical Engineer with technical enquiries and interventions on projects.
  • Capture and share technical lessons learnt with other projects to drive consistency through Technical Guidance Notes or Technical Bulletins.
  • Work with the company's training department to provide relevant and applicable Continuing Professional Development (CPD) training to develop staff.
  • Support development of industry standards and guidance by involvement in technical committees, working groups, etc.
  • Support project teams with technical issues that may arise during bid, pre-construction, and construction stages.
  • Support the business units as they transition to Infrastructure type projects involving upskilling staff and development of supply chain and our 'Standard Equipment and Minimum Requirements Specifications'.
  • Role will involve periodically visiting projects around the UK.

**Requirements**

  • Experience in MEICA design – from concept to completion.
  • Degree in Electrical Engineering / other appropriate construction-related qualification.
  • Deep and broad experience managing the design of construction or building services projects.
