About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Building Services Maintenance Technician to join our team at Midlands Partnership NHS Foundation Trust. As a key member of our Estates team, you will be responsible for undertaking a range of building, decorating, carpentry, and joinery duties, as well as maintaining and repairing equipment and fabric at our various properties.

Key Responsibilities
  • Undertake a range of building, decorating, carpentry, and joinery duties, including installation, testing, and validation of new equipment and fabric, as well as repair and routine maintenance of existing equipment and fabric.
  • Inspect, maintain, and repair fire doors and other specialist door sets/equipment, including access control locks, anti-barricade doors, anti-ligature ironmongery, and anti-ligature/anti-vandal windows.
  • Undertake other multi-skilling duties where skills, abilities, and competence/training are appropriate, including fire compartmentation inspections, asbestos checks/inspections, and unblocking drains.
  • Install, maintain, fault-find, test, and validate complex equipment/systems/plant in accordance with manufacturer's instructions, relevant H&S regulations, Approved Codes of Practice (ACOP's), Hospital Technical Memorandums (HTM's), and British Standards.
Person Specification

We are looking for an individual with the following qualifications and experience:

  • Achieved accreditation through a 4-year training course in a relevant field or be able to demonstrate proven practical knowledge through experience.
  • Possess relevant qualification City & Guilds, NVQ 3, or other equivalent qualification in a relevant discipline or be able to demonstrate proven practical knowledge through experience.
  • Experience of working in a similar role or discipline.
  • Ability to travel between sites.
