About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled Surveyor to join our team at PA Housing, responsible for providing a comprehensive surveying resource for the Property Services Department.

Key Responsibilities

  • Inspect housing stock and building works, prepare specifications, and compile tender/contract documentation to deliver repairs and void works.
  • Work within authorized budgets and to agreed quality standards.
  • Excel in customer care provision.
  • Assist all colleagues and contractors in order to achieve top quartile performance in all aspects of maintenance services.
  • Limit risk to the organization through working knowledge of legislation risk management.

Requirements

  • Qualified to minimum HNC standard, or previous experience in a Construction/Maintenance environment.
  • Experience of scheduling building/planned maintenance works and contract administration.
  • Experience of communicating with service users, staff, and other agencies.
  • Knowledge of housing maintenance, repair specifications, diagnosing defects, and remedial works.
  • Knowledge of housing/property management systems (Northgate or similar).

Disclosure and Barring Service

This role requires the successful candidate to complete a basic DBS check. A basic DBS check will show any unspent convictions.

We have a duty to our residents to ensure that we have taken precautions regarding who will be visiting them and representing PA Housing.

Having unspent convictions will not necessarily preclude you from being recruited into the role; if you are potentially the successful candidate, we will complete a risk assessment with you to understand the circumstances around your conviction, how relevant they are to the post you have applied for, and what remedial action, if any, have you taken since your conviction.

Working Arrangements

We are happy to offer hybrid working with this role; you will be required to be in the office for around 2/3 days per week with the rest being from home.

Please note that we may need you to be in the office more within your probation and training.
