We are seeking a dedicated and experienced **Production Team Leader** to join our esteemed client in the manufacturing industry. As a key member of the production team, you will be responsible for leading and developing a team of production operators and technical staff.
This role offers a unique opportunity to lead and develop a team while maintaining high standards in automotive production. You will be responsible for ensuring the team adheres to health and safety and company policies, working closely with the purchasing, planning, and quality teams, and utilizing the ERP system to manage production workflows.
**Key Responsibilities**
- Lead and support a team of production operators and technical staff.
- Ensure the team adheres to health and safety and company policies.
- Work closely with the purchasing, planning, and quality teams.
- Utilize the ERP system to manage production workflows.
- Promote continuous improvement and problem-solving initiatives.
- Represent your product area in production team meetings.
**Key Activities**
- Monitor team performance and identify training needs.
- Conduct regular team briefings and individual meetings.
- Manage payroll and confidential documents.
- Ensure compliance with health and safety regulations.
- Conduct risk assessments and participate in safety investigations.
- Maintain high standards of housekeeping and quality compliance.
- Foster a culture of continuous improvement.
- Meet production plans and work with other departments.
- Track performance metrics and ensure timely delivery.
- Improve efficiency and manage resources effectively.
- Address non-conformance issues to reduce costs.
- Step in for the production manager when necessary.
**Essential Skills & Experience**
- Organized and proactive in task management.
- Strong leadership and communication skills.
- Ability to make data-driven decisions.
- Familiarity with ERP systems and Microsoft Office.
- Experience in manufacturing with a focus on quality.
**Qualifications**
- ILM Level 3 or equivalent (or willing to work towards).
- Relevant HSE certification (COSHH/Risk Assessor).
**Desirable Skills & Experience**
- Continuous Improvement qualifications (Green/Yellow Belt).
- Experience with Epicor ERP and PeopleHR.
- Background in manufacturing or automotive manufacturing.
